About Kate and my NB Kitchen

Hi!

My name is Kate MacKay. I’ve lived in New Brunswick Canada for my entire adult life and I consider myself a dyed in the wool Maritimer. In the Maritimes, we usually forsake meeting our friends and family in the living room or the “TV room”. We like to gather in the kitchen and chew the fat, swap lies and of course, eat.

This blog is about stuff — probably mostly it’s about food. Some of it is going to be about recipes. Some of it is going to be about food security issues. Some of it is going to be about impact of food issues, weight issues and trade issues in Canada and around the world. There’s also going to be some non-food things under discussion as well because…well, that’s what kitchens are for. As they say, pull up a chair and sit on the floor…

My background? I’ll start by telling you that I’m no expert. I am a hell of a good cook and several years ago, I volunteered at Our Greener Village Community Food Centre as their Kitchen Coordinator. I’m still involved with Our Greener Kitchen but now as a Board Member to the larger organization. I still passionate about food and food issues, so here’s to talking about food and other things. Lots of other things.

Welcome to my NB Kitchen. I hope you’ll find it comfortable here.

  1. Hi Kate! I came across your blog. Nice work! Interesting content. I enjoy to read blogs from people all over the world and get inspired by other bloggers recipes. I just followed your blog. It’s always nice to meet another blogger from Canada. I am a food blogger from Ontario, and I invite you to visit/follow my blog at: https://zest4foodblog.wordpress.com. Cheers, Angelika
